Jack is a former child actor who starred in “Triumph’s Boy,” a popular TV show from the ’80s and ’90s that was similar to “Lassie” but with a dog puppet instead of a collie. After the show was canceled, the crude pooch, Triumph, went into a downward spiral and took Jack with him. Fifteen years later Jack, who is no longer in contact with Triumph, finds himself happy and out of show business. Then Triumph re-enters Jack’s life, showing up at the house where he lives with his mother and moving in.
